First Annual Sundance Youth Triathlon

Get ready, get set, go.
Mark your calendars for Saturday August 30 - 9AM.
Registration Deadline is Sunday August 17.
Calling all kids ages 2 - 12 to participate in the Sundance Youth Triathlon. This event is for Sundance residents and well as those outside of Sundance - so invite your friends and relatives. To register for the event click on the link to the right. Once you complete the registration click the pay now button on the right. This will take you to PayPal to register for the race. Cost is $10 per child. When you pay, please select the drop down box for the number of children that you are registering. Please note, that this year all the proceeds from this race will go to the Sanders family to start a scholarship fund* in honor of their late daughter Ellyse. (*They are working on setting up the fund but at this time your donation will not be tax deductible.)
All registered participants will receive a really cool tee-shirt with the cool logo on the front and the sponsors names on the back. Speaking of sponsors, we are in need of some business or personal sponsors. The registration form has a spot to sign-up for sponsorship. If you or your company is interested in a sponsorship to help defray the cost of the tee-shirts, please select that in the survey. Either your company logo or your name will be listed on the back of the tee-shirt. Jeff or Ann Lukas will be in touch with you to get your logo or desired name for the tee-shirt, your sponsorship $$, and to say thank you. Remember all proceeds will be going to the Sanders family this year in memory of Ellyse.

The race will be grouped as follows:

2-5 year olds:
  • Swim 1 width of the pool in the shallow
  • Ride from the pool to the bus depot
  • Run around the bus depot

6-9 year olds:

  • Swim 1 length of the pool
  • Run from the pool to the bus depot – counter clockwise
  • Ride around the subdivision main road only

10-12 year olds:

  • Swim 2 lengths of the pool
  • Run from the pool to the bus depot – clockwise
  • Ride around the subdivision including the cul-de-sacs

Thank you to all that participated. We were able to give the Sanders family over $2700 to start a scholarship fund that will bless a child who lost a sibling to a termal illness!
Way to go kids - you did awesome!
